Education Bio – I feel like I have one of the best jobs in the world. I get to use my passion to not only share music, but to help facilitate all learning. From academic learning to learning about the world, learning about human nature, and most importantly learning about oneself. Music is something that all of us enjoy and partake in at some level.

Personal Bio – I am married to my husband, Paul who works for BDI which is based out of Cleveland, OH. We live in Cedar Falls. We have 2 boys, Jordan who is currently living and working in Cedar Falls as well, and Noah who is 9 and loves sports, music, and robotics. We have a daughter Josephine who is 4 and is in her first year of preschool. I love spending time with my family and volunteering at my church. Scrapbooking, reading, hitting the gym, watching all UNI sports, playing in the Cedar Falls Municipal Band, and PEO are the things I enjoy in my free time.

Courses Taught - Kdg, 1st, 2nd, and 6th grade general music. We learn basics of music including but not limited to: singing technique, reading and writing music, experiencing music from many genres and cultures, playing instruments, dance/movement, and music history. Students prepare for and perform to concerts each year.

7th/8th Chorus is an optional course where we continue learning about singing in particular and prepare and perform two concerts per year.

5th Grade Band - Students have their first experience with traditional band instruments. Students choose to join band. We meet as a band and in small groups to learn how to correctly play a chosen instrument and prepare for and perform two concerts per year.

6th Grade Band-We develop and build on the skills learned in year one. We perform 2 concerts per year, play at the High School Homecoming Football game, and perform a solo in our school Solo Festival.

7th/8th Grade Band- We continue to grow musicianship while adding a jazz unit (learning only, no performance) to the two concert band performances, pep band appearance and solo festival that all students participate in.
